The Branch was delighted to respond to the County Council’s consultation on a revised draft of the Lancashire Minerals and Waste Local Plan (DMWLP). We hope that our comments help Lancashire County Council to progress a Joint Lancashire Minerals and Waste Local Plan that will best protect and enhance rural Lancashire as new development is planned.

CPRE Lancashire has responded to the Environment Agency Consultation to vary the Environmental Permit for the Whitemoss Hazardous Waste Landfill site, to take account of the creation and operation of the Western Extension of the existing hazardous waste landfill site and seeks improvements in the draft variation of the permit.

The Branch is very disappointed to learn that Greg Clark, the Secretary of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government, has decided to grant a Development Consent Order for the extension of a hazardous waste landfill facility in the Green Belt immediately to the south of Skelmersdale.
