Written by CPRE Lancashire

The month of May sees the Greater Manchester Walking Festival take place, offering 400 guided walks in various locations. The festival aims to showcase and publicise the great walking opportunities and groups there are in Greater Manchester and to encourage people to walk more and more often.

CPRE Lancashire's 2019 AGM took place at Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve on May 23rd; thanks to all those members who attended and enjoyed  tea and cake, pond dipping, birdwatching or a walk in the woods!

CPRE’s public meeting, held in Manchester on March 26th, brought together, politicians, academics and members of the public to look for a consensus on how best to ensure that development is targeted on brownfield land where possible, as well as considering other ways to ensure best use of derelict land by greening if development is not appropriate.
