Ormskirk Bypass

The West Lancashire group have been actively campaigning against the bypass for the past few years:

"we were in opposition to the proposed Ormskirk Bypass, which would have been built almost entirely on Green Belt land.  The scheme stalled because of lack of available governmental funding.  We wrote letters to our local newspapers, and helped some local people form a group called Protect Rural Ormskirk to actively campaign against it."

The West Lancs group were also in partnership with NW TAR (North West Transport Activists Roundtable) who provided the District Group with information and supported the campaign to prevent the bypass from fruition (click here for NW TAR comments).
