How could a “brownfield first” approach help us make the best use of land in the Liverpool City Region?  This was the challenge posed to Zoe Nixon and Aidan Semple, two students from the University of Liverpool, as part of an internship programme for the Liverpool City Region Year of the Environment.

CPRE Lancashire has developed the Brownfield Land Register Toolkit to facilitate our work with planners and members of the community to identify sites that are missing from Local Authority Brownfield Registers, with the aim of reducing pressure to develop in the countryside by highlighting previously-developed sites, which are generally in more sustainable locations.

More and better regeneration of brownfield land

An event hosted by CPRE Lancashire to promote discussion on the best way to achieve effective reuse of brownfield land, to be held on 26 March 2019, 10:00 for 10:30 to 12:30, at the Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS.
