Liverpool Mayoral election meeting and Manifesto

Monday, 27 March 2017 10:39

Open meeting held to discuss Liverpool City Region issues and launch of Mayoral Manifesto.

On 21 March 2017, CPRE hosted a well-attended meeting at Blackburn House in Liverpool. The meeting was designed to bring together local environmental, community and campaigning groups as well as members of the public in order to discuss their priorities for the Liverpool City Region (LCR).

Jackie Copley, CPRE Planning Manager, gave a presentation on the progress each of the six local authorities has made with its Development Plan and introduced CPRE's Mayoral Manifesto. CPRE Chair, Nick Thompson, discussed his interactions with the candidates who have been nominated to date and outlined CPRE's new initiative which seeks to develop a network of supporters across both the LCR and Greater Manchester sub-regions.

It is hoped that this new project will help to protect our precious green spaces in both areas and ensure that only the right developments occur in the right places.
