The Permits issued by the Environment Agency in connection with Cuadrilla’s proposals for its two sites in Fylde are based on offshore regulations, so the new guidance, when it is eventually published, will be particularly relevant in that context. Hitherto, the only regulations available applied to offshore operations.

Ninety green spaces across region under threat

The Branch wants new development in the countryside to be truly sustainable, so we welcomed the opportunity to tell the government how it could improve national planning policy as embodied in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

CPRE Lancashire and CPRE North Yorkshire are relieved at the decision to refuse permission for a further 30 caravans at an existing Caravan Park in Paythorne, Ribble Valley near the Lancashire/Yorkshire Border.

On 25 November, the Chancellor set out in the Spending Review and Autumn Statement 2015 that there remains more to do, particularly to re-focus support for housing towards low cost home ownership for first time buyers.
