Freelance Events & Projects Officer
LCR Walking & Cycling Ringway

Made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and thanks to National Lottery players, the Liverpool City Region will soon have a new 200-mile walking and cycling trail linking Liverpool’s historic waterfront with countryside, coast and communities across the region.

The LCR Ringway will be both a cycling trail and a walking trail and will cover all six boroughs of the Liverpool City Region and parts of Cheshire West, Lancashire and Warrington.

We’re now looking for an experienced Events and Projects Officer to play a key role in delivering the LCR Ringway, leading the development and delivery of events and projects that engage communities and help develop the project objectives.

You’ll develop an events programme for Spring 2027 which encompasses talks, short walks and cycles, and workshops across the region, as well as researching and devising a programme of skills training for communities and volunteers around the relevant project themes.

Project activity will include working with our tourism and active travel partners, as well as heritage partners in the region. You’ll also research models of organisational sustainability to ensure that the LCR Ringway can continue to thrive after the delivery period.

You’ll support the Content Marketing Consultant by gathering and coordinating content for the LCR Ringway website, as well as collecting and managing data to support monitoring and evaluation.
