By Becca Nelson

Experience the wonders of the night sky in Bowland, at an event run by Astronomer Robert Ince, who facilitated our popular 2020 stargazing evening at Beacon Fell.

Local Astronomer Robert Ince will be your guide taking you on an incredible journey through the constellations and along the Milky Way, while also showing you how to find all sorts of heavenly objects for yourself.

Weather permitting, participants will get the opportunity to see some of the sky’s wonders through powerful telescopes and binoculars. These are all operated by local astronomers, who will attempt to answer your questions on life, the universe and everything!

You’ll learn more about our dark skies and see startling images and videos of the objects we hope to see when we go outside, weather permitting. And even if the weather does not co-operate we’ll still have colourful talks, videos and hands on help with telescopes, together with friendly advice on how to get started in this wonderful hobby.

Wrap up warm – winter nights can be cold, bring binoculars if you have them and also a torch. Come dressed for the weather wearing warm clothing and sturdy footwear.

This event is only suitable for children aged 8+ who are able to sit and listen to a speaker.  The ticket price includes free parking.

Please book early – places are limited.

Tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £15 for children aged between 8 and 15.
