Happy New Year!
Happy New Year from all at CPRE Lancashire, Liverpool City Region and Greater Manchester!
It may be winter, but it’s still great to get outdoors!
If you’re in the Greater Manchester area, some of the stages of the GM Ringway lend themselves to a winter walk – East Didsbury to Bramhall provides a gentle introduction to the trail; at Etherow Country Park offers the opportunity to explore waterside and woodland paths and can be found on the Marple to Broadbottom route. Or if the weather is suitable, you could get out into the hills of Oldham on the Greenfield to Newhey route!
The Tolkien Trail is a wonderful walk through some of Lancashire’s most scenic countryside, with views of Pendle Hill and the opportunity for a delicious pub lunch at the end of the walk! Avoid 31st December though, as the Winter Tolkien Trail Race will be taking place.
We can also recommend the Sefton Coastal Path for a fantastic walk at any time of the year that is accessible by public transport, for those in the Liverpool City Region.
