The Branches of CPRE which represent the area covered by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA)/ Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) and the adjoining areas, i.e. CPRE Lancashire Branch, CPRE Cheshire Branch and Friends of the Peak District (FPD) have now submitted their joint response to the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF) Integrated Assessment (IA) Scoping Report.

CPRE is pleased that sustainable development, health and equality issues are promoted through better integration of social, economic and environmental considerations. We believe the ten authorities must have equal regard for rural planning issues as they progress the statutory planning document with a 20 year timeframe.

In the last four decades, rural areas have shrunk at quite a pace with associated negative impacts on rural living, agriculture and wildlife.

CPRE wants devolution to deliver an improved economy AND an improved countryside.
